How Auto Shipping with ShipVehicles Works

Vehicle Dealer

1. Place an RFQ: Once you sign-up with ShipVehicles, log onto your My RFQ page at ShipVehicles.com. Here, you will be able to fill out a quick and simple vehicle shipping Request For Quote (RFQ) form for either a single or multi-vehicle shipment. Completing this form will provide the basic information needed by car, truck, and motorcycle shipping companies to provide you with accurate quotes. (For example: where the vehicle is, where it is going, what type of vehicle it is, and when it is available to be picked up.) Upon completing the RFQ, your information will be submitted to the ShipVehicles, and you will be able to monitor your RFQ’s progress directly from your My RFQ page on ShipVehicles.com. Additionally, the information regarding this RFQ will be sent to you via e-mail.

2. Get Notified: At the close of the following business day at 5:00 pm PST, you will receive an e-mail from ShipVehicles notifying you that your RFQ is closed and your quotes are ready to be reviewed. This e-mail will have a hyperlink directly to your custom My RFQ page on ShipVehicles.com. Click on this link and you will be asked to enter your ShipVehicles user name and password. You may also follow the progress of your RFQ via the Dealer My RFQ interface.

3. Review Your Quotes: The Successful RFQ results page will display all of the quotes received for your RFQ. You will be able to review any of these quotes in detail, including the ShipVehicles Ratings for each individual auto transpoter. Once you have found your preferred quote, simply click the "Accept" button. The quotes you have received ARE NOT INDEFINITE AND WILL EXPIRE in two business days (from your RFQ close date) unless accepted and secured. Vehicle shipping companies must organize complex cross-country trips and often the prices you are quoted are based on the current availability of their trucks and the proximity of your vehicle to other vehicles they may be loading or dropping off.

4. Finalize Your Choice: When you accept the quote for auto transport or motorcycle shipping, you will be asked to confirm your selection before the RFQ considered complete. Once your RFQ is confirmed and completed, the winning auto shipping company is notified that their quote has been accepted. They will be asked to contact you to secure your position, arrange pick-up, delivery, and payment for the shipping. They must provide you with a current proof of insurance and will usually also provide a service agreement, either electronically (e-mail/fax) or via a mailed hardcopy.

4a. Get in Touch: If the auto transporter does not contact you within 24 hours, try to contact them via the contact information listed with their quote. Vehicle shipping companies can get very busy and are unable to respond quickly at all times. Please feel free to contact the auto transporter yourself if you have immediate needs or if you have not heard from them regarding your RFQ within a reasonable timeframe.

4b. The Back-up Options: If for whatever reason you are unable to make arrangements with the auto shipper you originally selected, please reference your RFQ on ShipVehicles.com and contact any of the other transporters that provided you quotes. Reference your RFQ number; and ask them if they are still able to honor the original quote they provided. If the remaining quotes were unsatisfactory or you are unable to make suitable arrangements with these other auto shippers, please place new RFQ.
